Awesome…piece of kit Use it so much. Sharpened it once came back as good as new.
I am 70+ years of age and have finally found a top quality knife at a reasonable cost. There was a delay in delivery but Phil’s communication throughout the transaction was first class
Very good
I treated myself to a new set of knives to go with my new kitchen and absolutely love them. They are so sharp and easily sharpened to maintain their cutting ability. The finger protector is brilliant for when my grandchildren help me cook. A perfect addition to my perfect kitchen.
Super sharp knife that cuts through anything. My boyfriend was so impressed when scoring meat that he got one for himself.
Knife has performed exactly as promised. Still sharp after 6 months and easy to use
I was bought this knife as a gift. An honest review. It feels flimsy, no weight to it. The blade is way too flexible. The handle is horrible and it lost its edge in a matter of days. I’m no chef but this thing feels dreadful. I’ve got knives from other manufacturers which granted I paid a little more for, but not a lot more, which actually do the job they are intended for, don’t lose their edge and feel comfortable. I wouldn’t waste any more money on any more of these so called “Magic” knives.
MAGIC KNIFE 11 December 2021. Hi Nick. Our knives are lighter than most but many people prefer that to a heavier knife. The flexibitly of the knife makes it excellent for filleting. Handles are a persoanl choice, and many people say the softer inner gives a good grip. Not sure how you have only "paid a little more for knives" that you prefer when this was a gift. However, regardless that it was a gift, we will honour the guarantee, so please do email phil@magic-knife.website and we'll sort out why it has gone blunt already. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
The knives are really lovely. Just one suggestion is that I think the blade should continue into the knife handle as that is the weakest part in that I have had one break at the handle meeting the blade. They are such good blades that this would be worth the extra expense to design this.
MAGIC KNIFE 11 December 2021. Hi Anne. The tang at the top of the blade does go back into the handle about half way. The failure rate of the knives is less than 3%, and they are covered by an extended guarantee, so if you have been unlucky to have a knife break, do email us on phil@magic-knife.website and we'll get it sorted. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
Great knife, don’t use any of my others now
I have 2, 8" Magic knifes.. 1 for My kitchen at home and 1 on my fishing Boat.. I must be careful cutting Bait with The Magic Knife, as they stay very sharp for a long time, If ever it broke, i would need to quit fishing..
MAGIC KNIFE 05 December 2021.Hi Munchkin. No need to give up fishing, just ensure you have registered for the life-time guarantee and we'll keep you going. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
Excellent for cutting bread and the Sunday joint
Really enjoyed using my magic knife set and found the different knives very useful for cutting all sorts of foods. For example thinly sliced tomatoes, but knife has to be very sharp. My only criticism is the knifes blur quickly.
MAGIC KNIFE 03 December 2021. Hi Nigel. We'd be interested to know what you mean by quickly? On average a light sharpening every two months or so is all that is required. They will blunt quickly if put in a dishwasher or used on glass/marble type chopping boards. Do email me on phil@magic-knife.website if you feel there's an issue here. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
The knives are brilliant and we have owned several over the years but unfortunately they have all had the same issue-they break at the handle. This is definitely a design flaw as it has happened with around 5 knives now. (8" and 5"). I would be interested to hear if there are any plans to change the design.
MAGIC KNIFE 27 November 2021. Hi Mandy. We have less than 3% of knives that fail. However, it is strange that it tends to happen more than once to the same people, which suggests it may be the way they are used or cared for. This could be issues such as putting in a dishwasher, inadequate sharpening, using with too much downward pressure or not using good knife handling technique. A quick search online will give articles and videos on correct knife handling. We constantly look at ways of improving the design, but so far have not found any that can be done without either an increase in price or that it affects the excellent cut of the knives. Our knives cut at least as well as those that cost considerably more. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
All knives sharp, nicely designed and good weight. With the 8inch knife found when cutting larger objects, Butternut squash or Melon, blade tends to become springy, maybe handle needs more weight. My wife suggests a knife for a size between 5 and 8 inches would be ideal.
MAGIC KNIFE 26 November 2021. Hi Melvyn. If you're finding when cutting a whole butternut, melon etc that the blade is flexing, try keeping the knife horizontal and push the blade straight down, then lift the handle up and down to use a rocking action to cut through. Cheers, Phil & Lesley
Absolutely love these knives, wouldn’t buy anything else now.
